Make this earth globe with a tuna can--one sided or glue 2 together and do back and front! P{paint it, glitter glue it or use cut up food packages such as cereal boxes for color.

Make A Globe of Earth
Make A World Globe From A Tuna Can

At home or at school this craft is cool!

Make your very own world globe from recycled items.

Recycle Everyday Objects

Great craft for a school lesson plan, girl scouts, boy scouts or home project,recycle!

Make the Globe:

Tools needed for this globe (above)

  • Tuna Can (for 2 can version see options)
  • Cork
  • Bottle Top (preferably 1 1/2 inches -2 inches in diameter)
  • Glitter Glue (see coloring other options below)
  • All purpose glue
  • String (only If you want a hanging decoration)
  • Your imagination

Directions: We used Elmer's Glitter Glue for this project

  • First do a pencil or marker drawing of the Earth's view on the can bottom
  • To paint in that image apply Elmer's Glitter Glue
  • Let it dry!
  • When that's dry: Glue the can to the cork
  • When that's dry: Glue the cork to the bottle top
  • Let it Dry
  • Done!
  • To make it a hanging decoration: Glue the string to the top

Notes:

  • The Glitter Glue takes an entire day to dry.
  • Make sure the can has NO Sharp edges!
  • When gluing the can to the cork, and the cork to the bottle top, make sure each one is centered properly

Options:

Make it 2 sided:

  • Use 2 cans! Make it two sided do 2 sided views of the planet

In place of "glitter glue":

  • Use traditional glitter and glue it on
  • Use tiny beads and glue them on
  • Use colored paper and glue it on
  • Paint the can
