This Earthday everyone wins with FundungFactory and Planetpals.com

Earth Day is right around the corner and FundingFactory and Planetpals are providing great Earth-friendly activities for students and educators.

To highlight Earthday, FundingFactory is sponsoring a recycle contest on Planetpals. Earthzone website, www.planetpals.com, in hopes of registering some of the thousands of individuals, schools and organizations that visit Planetpals Earthzone website annually. The prizes include a 50 dollar gift certificate for every registration and a chance to win one of 6 Planetpals music CD's each month.

Planetpals website is an affiliate of FundingFactory, which is the largest fundraiser recycling program available to educational and nonprofit organizations. Both sources provide Earth-friendly programs year-round, but now is a great time to get involved.

Planetpals Earthzone offers games, activities and fun facts about recycling and ecology. Students can explore Planetpals site to learn more about the Earth, download recycle kits, play a game, make a craft, read stories about the Planetpals and more. For example, did you know that Earth Day was started in 1970 by a man named John McConnell from the United States? It was originally held on the annual celebration of the March Equinox and still is by many people. However, it is generally celebrated on April 22. Earth day is now celebrated worldwide. Planetpals has the best content on EARTH!

The FundingFactory program teaches the value of recycling by rewarding its participants with needed technology, classroom and recreation equipment or cash in exchange for empty printer cartridges and used cell phones. Used items collected through the program are refilled or refurbished for reuse. This reduces waste sent to landfills, and conserves oil that is used when producing new cartridges.

Did you know that 2.5 ounces of oil is used to produce one inkjet cartridge? Even worse, 3.5 quarts of oil is used to produce one laser cartridge. Millions of cartridges are used and discarded each year. Educational and nonprofit organizations can benefit themselves by helping the environment.

In addition to the Planetpals contest, FundingFactory is holding its Third Annual Earth Day Poster Contest for children ages 4 to 18. Posters must depict a recycling or conservation theme. The poster contest provides a great way to introduce students to the importance of recycling and the benefits of conservation efforts. In addition, artwork from 13 students will be published in FundingFactory’s Earth Day Every Day calendar. Students with winning artwork will be rewarded with prizes including digital cameras, movie passes, pizza parties and more.

Planetpals and FundungFactory is a Win/Win combination…so stop by and win today!
