Welcome to Planetpals Earthday Haiku Contest 2008
Planetpals.com introduces an earth friendly and fun haiku contest to help kids learn to keep the planet clean and healthy! The contest aims to promote the introduction of haiku into the curricula of elementary and junior high school, spread the enjoyment and a more comprehensive understanding of poetic forms and environmental awareness, so important today. Open to individual students. We encourage this as a lesson plan or activity from schools, camps, organizations and homeschools.

Contest Rules:
Starting Date: Feb 22, 2008 Ending Date: EARTHDAY - - April 22, 2008 Announcements: Winners will be announced by May 15, 2008 Theme: The contest theme is "what earthday means to you". Who can enter: Any child ages 15 years and under from the USA (including Alaska, PR and Hawaii). ***ONLY ONE ENTRY PER STUDENT! Winners: There will be 2 winners for each category and entries based age appropriately.  Prizes:Elementary students will win a Planetpals Music CD, Junior High school winner will win a Planetpals earth T-shirt design of their choice. In addition to will publish the top 25 winning entries in an online anthology called "Earthday Haiku from US Students". Sign up for the email list to be notified! Submissions: All entries must be postmarked no later than April 22, 2008 and include the students name and address or school name and address.
